Dip and Dig In

This can be a simple and healthy lunch for any child.
This recipe is part of our 5-Day School Lunch Menu.

Ingredients: (All ingredients are optional)

Food For Dipping:

Baby Carrots or Carrot Sticks
Sliced Cucumber
Thinly Sliced Red Pepper
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Crackers
Cheese Cubes
Orange Pieces
Apple Pieces
Banana Sliced in Small Chunks
(Any other vegetable or fruit dipping option)

Dipping Sauce Options:

Yogurt
Salsa
Low fat dressing
Low fat chocolate pudding

Bread:

Whole Wheat Bun
1/2 Plain or Whole Wheat Bagel

Directions:

  • Place dipping sauce in a small plastic container.
  • Put their favorite veggies for dipping in other small containers.
  • A roll, bun or 1/2 bagel on the side
  • Then Dip and Dig In
  • Perhaps a note reminding them to bring the containers home:)
