Onions a la Creme

8 large onions, sliced
2/3 cup cream (35%)
3 tbsp sherry
3/4 tsp salt
3 tbsp butter
Pepper to taste

  • Preheat oven to 350F
  • Place onions in boiling water for approximately 5 minutes until onions are tender
  • Drain the onions and lay them out on a greased baking dish
  • In a medium bowl, mix cream, sherry, salt and pepper
  • Dot butter periodically over the top
  • Cover baking dish and bake for approximately 30 minutes
